Krystof, his brother Yerik and Captain Hagen are three sailors who have been on a fishing boat stranded in the port of Callao for three weeks. Krystof starts a relationship with Sonia, a woman who sells breakfast near a factory with the help of her stepson Tito. Sonia becomes Krystof’s only hope of moving forward, and proposes that they open a restaurant and take care of Yerik’s illness together. But Krystof’s pride stops him, and he is unable to accept the offer. In a desperate act, Krystof proposes a way out to Captain Hagen: sell the company’s equipment and use the money to buy return tickets. Excited by the idea, the sailors celebrate on the boat in advance, and Tito joins them. They drink too much and, in a moment of confusion, Krystof becomes violent with Tito, kills him and throws his body into the sea. Krystof can no longer return to his country or his fishing boat.
