Oxalá Produções e Uma Pedra no Sapato

Over the last four years, Oxalá Produções has been developing audiovisual projects focusing on content related to Afro-Brazilian and diaspora culture. Some of his main productions include the short fiction film Fábula de VóIta (2016), the documentary short Okán Mímó (2017) and the web series “Empoderadas” (2015). In 2017, the company collaborated in the development of the “Ojú: Encontros e Movimentos” project, which presents the cultural and historical aspects of terreiro communities to the public. Based on the project’s theme, the producer also produced Okán Mimó: glances and words of affection, a film that records testimonies from Candomblé members about their relationships with the Orixás.

 

Expanding independent film production company, based in Lisbon, was founded by filmmakers João Miller Guerra and Filipa Reis. It invests in fiction and creative documentaries and aims to make films with impact across borders and cultures, with world premieres at the main film festivals (Cannes, Berlin, Rotterdam, Locarno, Venice, IDFA, Cinema du Réel, FIDMarseille, DOKLeipzig, Hong Kong, Clérmont-Ferrand), in addition to national and international cinematic release, distribution on TV networks and via VOD around the world. Batrachian’s ballad (2016) and Terra Franca (2018) were some of the company’s productions.
