Jorge, a 73-year-old widower, cleans rooms at a motel and secretly records the intimate sounds of guests to sell. His routine is upended when Samuel shows up, a male escort who seems to know more than he lets on. What begins as a threat becomes an unexpected bond, where desire, loss and the unexplainable blur together.

Dezenove Som e Imagens was founded in 1991 by Carlos Reichenbach and Sara Silveira, in partnership with Maria Ionescu. Since then, it has produced some of Brazil’s most memorable films. Recent titles include Todos os Mortos (Official Selection, Berlinale), As Boas Maneiras (Special Jury Prize, Locarno) and Trabalhar Cansa (Cannes).

Director and screenwriter
Renato has directed seven short films, including Os Animais Mais Fofos e Engraçados do Mundo, which screened at more than 60 festivals and won 20 awards, including Havana, Frameline and MixBrasil, and was a Grande Otelo finalist. His debut feature, Sons para Dormir e Relaxar, was selected for Residência Base and the Queer Palm Lab at the Cannes Film Festival.
