Lilian is the mother of Dandara, an 11-year-old child. They are from a mixed family of African, European and indigenous origins. Together they embark on a journey to the interior of the country in search of a common ancestor: the indigenous great-great-grandmother who was raped and stolen from her village. Lilian and Dandara’s search is not individual, but a collective story of miscegenation in Brazil: a miscegenation made from violence and affection and carefully sustained belly to belly by women caught in a noose.

With more than 20 years of experience in the cultural area, the company has been based in Salto (SP) since 2016, where it has been involved in important cultural projects in the region, such as the production of Curta Salto – Salto Film Festival (in its eighth edition) and the Casa da Memória Negra de Salto, an experimental occupation documentary project installed in the city museum “Ettore Liberalesso” since 2016.
