Brazil
The construction of a dam threatens to submerge the Indigenous community of Barro Vermelho. Lourdes, a teacher and single mother, is torn between accepting compensation and moving to the city, or resisting alongside her mother Maria, a spiritual leader, and her son Bento, who is deeply tied to the land. When Bento disappears, Lourdes begins a search that forces her back to spiritual paths she has rejected for years. To save him and defend the territory, she leads the community to Dentro do Rio, where ancestry becomes a force of resistance and renewal.
