Sandra and Mariana are cousins, and their past comes to light when they return to live together in the same house where they grew up. Sandra, 35 years old, is a dark-skinned black woman. Mariana, 34 years old, is a black woman with light skin. Ivone, Sandra’s mother, worked as a live-in maid for Mariana’s family. Sandra challenges the romanticized version that Mariana has of their joint history, which ignores that Sandra, as a child, worked at home with her mother. To stop the cycle of oppression, they will have to understand their differences and recognize each other as equals.

Founded in 2004, Gato do Parque is an independent production company focused on audiovisual production for cinema and television. He has produced and co-produced several short films, feature films and TV series. The production company is characterized by developing projects that seek historically invisible narratives and themes. The feature films Rio Cigano (2013), Citrotoxic (in production) and Criadas (in development) are good examples of Gato do Parque’s cinematography.
