Santiago del Estero, Argentina. Nino, 12 years old, is attacked for being homosexual. To protect him, his father accepts a job as a foreman on a farm in the mountain region, and the whole family moves. The afternoons are long. Nino feels guilty about everything that happened and his imminent confirmation distresses him. In this rural, believing and superstitious environment, Nino discovers the legend of Almamula, a creature that lives in the mountains and takes away anyone who commits an impure sexual act. Nino feels like an easy prey for the beast and will do anything to attract it and go with it. Without knowing that the mountain hides something worse than any legend can tell.

Tu Vas Voir is a production company based in Paris, founded by Edgard Tenembaum and Gérard Lacroix, which produces French feature films and international co-productions. His biggest success is the film The Motorcycle Diaries, by Walter Salles (2004). In 2006, it incorporated Pilar Peredo to develop projects with Latin America, including Ixcanul and Temblores, by Guatemalan Jayro Bustamante.
