Moara, a Black model living and working in Shanghai, sees her life unravel when her relationship ends. When she learns that her uncle Nêgo is dying, she feels unmoored in the city and decides to leave everything behind and return to Brazil. Nêgo is the king of the congado and has promised that his daughter, Bruna, will succeed him. Back home and reunited with her family, Moara confronts grief and her own choices, rediscovering who she truly is.

Larissa Barbosa is a director and screenwriter and a member of Rede de Talentos Paradiso. She directed the award-winning short O Lado de Fora Fica Aqui Dentro. Her next short, Feito Tatu, took part in LNN (APAN), sponsored by Amazon Prime Video, and was the only Brazilian project selected for the BOGOSHORTS Film Market.
Producer
Ana Clara Martins served as cinematographer and producer on the short O Lado de Fora Fica Aqui Dentro, which screened at numerous festivals and was a finalist for the Grande Otelo Awards 2025. She recently worked as director of photography on the children’s series Heroínas Negras Mineiras for TV Rede Minas and is currently producing Larissa Barbosa’s first feature.
