Colombia
After the death of his grandfather, a renowned shaman, Inti (8) returns to the Sibundoy Valley and is cared for by his grandmother Mercedes in the family’s blue house. When she falls ill and prepares to cross the Kuriyako, the sacred place where her people go to die, Inti accompanies her in her final days. An ancestral presence transforms the house, blurring the boundary between the living and the dead. El Umbral is a coming-of-age story about grief, memory and ancestral knowledge.
