Ana, 18 years old, a black girl with light skin, arrives from the backlands to study theater in Salvador. She doesn’t have her mother’s approval, who wants to see her take over her company. After much insistence, Ana gets permission to go to theater school, under one condition: she has three months to be able to support herself. But, in castings, all the possible characters that Ana tries to embody are considered outside her profile. Sometimes she’s not white enough; sometimes it’s not black enough. In the search for a character, Ana ends up finding herself.

Plano 3 Filmes is a collective from Bahia, which has produced award-winning films, such as Jonas e o Circo sem Lona, Filho de Boi and Saudade Fez Morada Aqui Dentro, his most recent work, which won more than 20 awards at international festivals and will be released in cinemas this year. At this moment, the group is developing the project Ana.
