In a modest coastal community in Fortaleza, young Lavínia, a debt-ridden Rastafarian surfer, works as an app delivery girl to finance her first “surf trip”. Trying to reach her goal, she suffers a motorcycle accident at a construction site near the old Mucuripe lighthouse, where Zé do Farol lives, her 90-year-old grandfather who has mental disorders and with whom Lavínia has always had relationship problems. At the scene of the accident, she finds an old cinema viewfinder that reads “Mitchel Camera Corp – RKO”. Oblivious to the object, she gets rid of the equipment until Tom Spencer, a mysterious foreign researcher based in Fortaleza, offers good money for the object. Curious about the offer, Lavínia discovers that the display belonged to the iconic North American filmmaker Orson Welles, who was visiting Fortaleza in 1942. In search of the relic, Lavínia ends up discovering her family’s secrets and her grandfather’s connections with Orson Welles.
