Saturnema Filmes
Saturnema Filmes is an independent film production company with 30 awards, co-founded by filmmakers Ana do Carmo and Ariel L. Ferreira, with executive production by Rubian Melo, who has been producing independent cinema since 2016. It has produced short films that have been shown at national and international festivals, circulating in 11 countries, in 8 cities in the United States and also participating in the Short Film Corner at the Cannes Film Festival (France). There are currently 6 feature and series projects in development that have gone through important laboratories such as Sundance Collab (USA), Frapa, Nordeste Lab, Nicho 54, Gira de Projetos Zózimo Bulbul, Panlab, Mercado Audiovisual da APAN, Prêmio Cabíria de Roteiro, Série Lab, Usina do Drama, Cinema Negro em Ação, Laboratório Griot and FIM Women’s Film; by important international events such as SXSW – South by Southwest (Texas), Marché du Film (Cannes Festival), the Diversity and Inclusion program of the European Film Market (Berlinale) and PLOT 21 (Portugal); in addition to being one of the 14 finalist producers at BrLab 2020. Currently, she has creative and production mentorship with Netflix and Telecine, in addition to being a member of important Brazilian cinema organizations such as Cinema do Brasil, Projeto Paradiso Talent Network, APAN – Association of Black Audiovisual Professionals and ABRA – Brazilian Association of Screenwriters. The company was awarded in public notices such as: Jorge Portugal das Artes feature development award, Conceição Senna Award for creating the Películos Negras Lab script laboratory, Audiovisual Exhibition Award with licensing of two short films for TVE, Usina do Drama 2020 and Arte como Respiro from Itaú Cultural, in addition to having signed a licensing agreement with Spcine Play and Wolo Tv.
