Eugenio Miranda is a 72-year-old former football player who lives against his own will in an old people’s home. Bitter because he never won a championship, he finds one last opportunity to redeem himself in a dance tournament for seniors. Together with his dance partner Carmen, Eugenio struggles to learn the steps of salsa, cumbia and bolero. When Carmen dies unexpectedly on the dance floor, Eugenio makes a radical decision and starts rehearsing with Daniel, his dance instructor, a 70-year-old homosexual. The proximity of a gay man bothers Eugenio, but he soon realizes that with Daniel he has a real opportunity to win. While his family tries to keep him out of the competition, Eugenio will face his own prejudices in the name of determination to finally achieve the triumph he longs for.
