Paulinha and Priscila are two lesbian women who live on the outskirts of Belo Horizonte. Paulinha looks for ways to survive and Priscila counts the remaining days of her meager savings, with which she has been maintaining the house she shares with her love. Common difficulties generate immediate complicity and establish friendship between them. With their short-term expectations for life frustrated, the young women decide to commit a small robbery to go on a trip to Copacabana, where they can meet other girls and the sea. In Rio, they join Gabi, who quickly breaks the hearts of the two friends. Affections, dislikes, desires, disagreements and wanderings mark the girls’ trajectory in Rio de Janeiro and on the road back home.

Ventura is an audiovisual production company based in Belo Horizonte. Formed by Juliana Antunes, Laura Godoy and Marcella Jacques, the company focuses on projects by female directors, and seeks to bring notoriety to female leadership in their work. Baronesa, by director and partner Juliana Antunes, was the first feature film signed by the producer. Currently, the company is developing three other feature films: Bate e volta Copacabana, by Juliana Antunes (fiction); It’s all true in Ouro Preto, by Laura Godoy (documentary); and Empty Orchestra, by Maria Leite (stop-motion animation). In addition to these, a documentary series for TV is in pre-production (“Mulher periphery”, in 13 episodes of 26 min.) and in circulation at festivals with the short film Plano Controle.
