Will the activities be in-person?

Yes. Each project must have a director and a screenwriter (when they are not the same person) and a producer who confirm their participation in BrLab from October 1st to 7th in São Paulo (SP). Other preparatory online activities may be scheduled.

Who can register and participate in BrLab Features 2024?

Projects with at least one production company may send a submission. The project’s director must be involved in writing the treatment (and screenplay, if applicable) and must have directed at least one short film.

Only one project per director can submit to BrLab Features.

Each production company may submit up to three projects, though only one may be selected.

Who should participate in BrLab Features 2024 activities?

The project must have at least one screenwriter and one director (in case they’re not the same person) and a producer to participate in the in-person events. All of them must participate fully in the laboratory from October 1st to 7th, 2024.

Can I submit a project that has already been submitted in another edition of BrLab?

Projects that were not selected in previous years may reapply, provided there have been significant changes to the project.

In what language can I submit the registration documents?

All texts and documents for the submission can be sent in either Portuguese or Spanish.

Should I present a rights assignment authorization for the project?

If the film is an adaptation of a previous work, authorization for the adaptation by the rights holders of the original works must be presented along with the form.

If it is an original treatment, attach a document proving the assignment of rights for production.
