Synopsis

Miladies narrates the story of Livia (75), an upper-middle-class retired architect who places the pursuit of perfection as a priority in her daily life. She is married to Rui (76) and has a daughter and a granddaughter. The structured dynamics of her life, completely dedicated to the home and family, without any leisure experience, is threatened when her best friend returns to Brazil after years of living abroad. Livia, then, reconnects with her youth and the desires she had kept contained for years.

Vilarejo Filmes is a film production company founded in 2015 by Livia de Melo and Kika Latache. Both have been working as producers since 2004 and participated in the production of feature films such as Viajo porque preciso, volto porque te amo, by Karim Anouïz and Marcelo Gomes; Era uma vez, eu, Vêronica, by Marcelo Gomes; Tatuagem, by Hilton Lacerda; O Homem das multidões, by Marcelo Gomes and Cao Guimarães; Baixio das bestas, by Claudio Assis; Olhos azuis, by José Jofflly; the micro series “A Pedra do Reino”, by Luiz Fernando Carvalho; Gabriel Mascaro's films Um Lugar ao sol, Ventos de agosto and Boi neon; and Kleber Mendonça Filho’s Aquarius.

Home Films S.C. is one of the most well-known and solid film production companies in Mexico. A formal department specifically dedicated to film production has been in operation since early 2017. Currently, it has more than six feature films in development and two projects starting preproduction. Supporting a new generation of filmmakers is considered vital to the company, which is why its main focus has been on debut films and projects that include synergy with consolidated professionals.
