Synopsis

Gugu, 11, is an effeminate child who dreams of becoming a soccer player. He lives on the banks of a water reservoir with his grandmother Dilma, a 65-year-old retired teacher, who has been raising him, with great freedom, since her daughter Eliane drowned in the reservoir. After years of drought, the reservoir dries up and reveals the ruins of the old city. But in the midst of the ruins, the family's wreckage also emerges, triggering the onset of an Alzheimer's disease process in Dilma. Afraid of losing his grandmother and having to live with his homophobic father, Gugu tries to hide her worsening. But the disease advances and Gugu, under the threat of losing the freedom to be who he is, plunges with Dilma into an uncertain path, between memory and forgetfulness.
