After finishing my film studies in Buenos Aires, I traveled to Medellin to work with my father, Victor Gaviria, in La Mujer del animal, a film that tells the story of a woman who is kidnapped by a criminal. During the shooting of this film, narrated with explicit violence, where the set was led by men trying to film the subjectivity of a woman prisoner, I thought of the impossibility of seeing other shades of gender violence in Colombia, a country at war that has blurred the tracks of patriarchy in our families.
