Vanessa Fort is a screenwriter and film director, and O que está por vir is the first feature film that she directed. She worked as researcher and associate producer of the feature film Eleições (Festival do Rio and Dok Leipzik), directed by Alice Riff. She also wrote and co-directed the feature film Pai Francisco, along with Marcus Vinicius Vasconcellos, and participates in the script and co-production of the feature film Memórias, psicotrópicos e cinema, by Alan Minas. She is currently developing, as screenwriter and director, A menina do coração de sanfona (Lab Novas Histórias).
