Born in Portugal and emigrated to Brazil at the age of 12. Graduated in Journalism, she consolidated her career as a writer and playwright. Her works of authorship and collaborations include novels, more than twenty plays, eight miniseries and nine soap operas. She has collected numerous awards throughout her career: Jabuti, for the novel Luisa; Molière for the plays Bodas de Papel, Chiquinha Gonzaga, De Braços Abertos and Querida Mamãe; and APCA for the miniseries A Muralha and A Casa das Sete Mulheres. In 2020 she was invited to take the 35th seat of Academia Paulista de Letras.
