Juliana Antunes graduated in Film with specialization in Direction and Screenwriting in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil. She wrote, produced and directed the feature film Baronesa, awarded at the festivals Havana, FIC Valdívia, IndieLisboa and FIDMarseille in 2017. Baronesa was also voted best debut feature film by Roger Koza's La Internacional Cinefilia magazine. She worked as a programmer at Cine 104 and is the founder and curator of Cineclube Aranha, both in Belo Horizonte. She served as young jury member at Mostra de Cinema de Tiradentes (Minas Gerais - 2014) and jury member at Festival Olhar de Cinema (Paraná - 2018) and Indie Lisboa Festival Internacional de Cinema (Portugal - 2019). She wrote and directed the short film Plano controle, which was awarded at the Festival de Brasília (2018) and premiered internationally at IndieLisboa, and is now researching her next project, the feature film Bate e volta Copacabana.
