Estrela Straus is a Brazilian actress and director. She studied film at FAAP in Brazil, at EICTV in Cuba and at Universidad del Cine in Argentina. As an actress, she graduated from the Lee Strasberg Film and Theatre Institute in New York, at CPT in São Paulo, Augusto Fernandes and Agustín Alezzo in Buenos Aires. Estrela studied scriptwriting with the Argentinian playwright Mauricio Kartun. She also taught acting at Teatro Escola Célia Helena in São Paulo. She has acted in plays, short-films and TV-series in Brazil, Argentina, Cuba, Germany and the United States. She directed the plays Fracture, in Berlin, and Vanities, in New York. She also directed two short films, My favourite things ou Liberdade and Fim.
