Born in Guayaquil en 1992, Douglas is graduated in Multimedia Systems, studied Film at the University of the Arts of Ecuador. He is a multimedia designer, screenwriter, director, producer and assistant director for film and theater. His short film "La Cajuela" won the production award at the Los Cortos de Urdesa Festival and premiered at the Quito Latin American Film Festival. He won the Golden Iguana at the Guayaquil International Film Festival (2018) for Best Guayaquil Short Film and Best Director at the Manabí Profundo Film Festival (2018) and recently won the award for Best Short Film at the 2nd edition of the Turicine Ecuadorian Festival (2021). He is currently CEO of Claquetaplay, the first digital media recommending on demand cinema and theater in Ecuador and founded his production company Magufin with which he develops the collaborative film project "La Crew."
