The arid wind and low humidity dry out the skin of the people of Catalão, a small city in Brazil’s countryside. Sandro (54) works at the mining company Coopebrás. At the end of his shift he regularly meets his coworker Ricardo (38), and they have sex amid the eucalyptus trees that surround the company grounds. On Wednesdays, Sandro swims at the only pool in town. It was by the pool that he first saw Maicon (28). Sandro wants Maicon, but their eyes never cross. When Maicon starts to work as a security guard at the mining company, Sandro’s desire turns into an obsession. Sandro finds out that Ricardo and Maicon are having an affair. As the end of July winds ruffle the green eucalyptus leaves, Sandro, with a knife in his hand, follows the two lovers into the woods.
