Paulo Lins is a poet, novelist, screenwriter for cinema and television and licensed professor in Portuguese and Brazilian Language by Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro. Author of the novels: “Sob o Sol”, “Cidade de Deus” (adapted screenplay nominated for an Oscar), “Esses poetas”, “Desde que o samba é samba” and “Era uma vez”. As screenwriter, he worked on the films: “Orfeu da Conceição” with Cacá Diegues, “Quase dois irmãos” with Lúcia Murat (Winner of the APCA Award for best screenplay), “Era uma vez” with Breno Silveira and “Estrada 47” by Vicente Ferraz. For television, he co-wrote and co-directed the series “Cidade dos homens” with Kátia Lundi. He worked on the script for the series “Suburbia” with Luiz Fernando Carvalho, worked as scriptwriter in the series “Carcereiros” and as a collaborator in the soap opera “I love Paraisópolis”, both Rede Globo productions.
