Sahar is a young Iranian woman doomed to isolation by her conservative family when they discovered she was having an affair. After being punished physically, Sahar escapes from Iran and fleas to São Paulo, where she has to restart her life in a completely different society. In Brazil, Sahar will find love, freedom, and new forms of sexism and oppression.

    She studied Direction at ECA-USP. Her short-film thesis Spread in the Air debuted at the 40th Brasilia Film Festival. The film was also screened at the Cannes Critics Week 2009, along with his second short film Bond. Restless Love, her first feature, was released at the Miami International Film Festival in 2016.

    She was born in Maputo on 1983 and graduated from the University of São Paulo. Her first feature as main producer, The Way He Looks, has won the Teddy Award and the Fipresci Prize at the Berlinale 2014, and was the Brazilian entry for the Oscars 2015. Her second feature, Two Irenes, premiered at Berlinale 2017.
